Race Name: Trans-Sylvania Mountain Bike Epic

Location: Base camp is located in State College, PA. Racing takes pace throughout the mountains of central Pennsylvania.

Dates: May 30 – June 5, 2010.

How it started:

Mike Kuhn and Ray Adams, two prominent mountain bike racers and event promoters in the Mid-Atlantic region, decided to start a mountain bike stage race to showcase the beautiful trails in central PA.

Race Overview

This is about a six day stage race, with all stages in the central PA region. You stay at the same base camp all week. Each day the start line is a short bike or bus ride away.

Consists of a prologue, cross country days, and a Super D day.

Be sure to include number of stages, overall mileage, typical mileage per day, etc.

Weather

is nice this time of year. Usually warm but not too hot or humid. Trails are dry after spring rain.

Terrain

Very hilly, but not mountainous. Rolling hills. Lots of singletrack with green scenery (fields, trees, etc.)

Elevation

Not very high.
