Like TransScotland, this is a division of TransUK.

Location: Wales

Dates: August 14-21, 2010

How it started:

“This trend towards mass participation events for all levels of riders, enables people of varying abilities to overcome their barriers, achieving new personal goals and simply follow a healthy and active lifestyle. They also offer the chance to get away from it all, relax and have fun. With this in mind we have created the first ever ‘TransWales’ (2006) and are continuing running the TransUK in either Wales or Scotland. For 2010 the TransUK events are staying in Wales for the 4th ‘issue’ of the TransWales – 7 day long Mountain Bike stage challenge.”

can be tackled in either pairs or as solo riders

Pricing – three options; gold, silver, and bronze. from 375 to 475 to 575 Pound Sterling. (not sure of American dollar amount)

Food and Lodging:

Lodging

options include tent sites, as you will be camping at a new spot each night. The TransWales will set up camp at visitor centres, camp grounds, farms and leisure centres along the way and will offer the competitors facilities to keep themselves as well as their equipment in order.

There will be showers, toilets and water at every over night stay. All your equipment (event holdall and tent) will be transported from location to location.

Food

The riders will be looked after during the day with breakfast, rolling lunch and dinner as well as energy food at selected checkpoints on the linking stages.
