How Is The Mountain Biking in Pennsylvania?

When people hear about mountain biking in the Alps or Rocky Mountains, they get a pretty clear idea of what it is. Most everyone is familiar with the majestic scenery of mountain peaks (or at least, everyone has seen the pictures.)
And you can probably imagine the jungles and rainforest type terrain in Costa Rica. As well as the hot, arid landscape on the African Cape.
But what about Pennsylvania? It’s definitely not Colorado or Utah, and it’s certainly not Kansas or Florida either. So how do you describe it to someone who has never been there?
That’s the predicament the TransSylvania Epic promoters found themselves in.
So… they created some videos of the central Pennsylvania trails that will be used in the race!
Here is a look at a number of trails in the State College, PA area:
And here is some video of the flowing singletrack of the Allegrippis Trail Network, recently created at Raystown Lake:
Yes, you saw smooth flowing singletrack, green scenery, log hops, rock gardens, plus moderate climbs and descents. That’s a good sample of what you will find in the central PA area.
